My daughter has hit the stage where she needs her hair pulled back out of her eyes, but it's not long enough to be pulled back...and any bow that's too big she gets annoyed with and pulls out!

Solution: These super cute, small and dainty hair bows!

Baby Blanket How-To

Only a few more weeks until we find out what we're having. In the mean time I've been checking out all the cool new baby stuff that has come out since I had Amelia. (You'd be surprised at what they've come up with in just the last 2 years!) One of my favorite things that I've found, and seen many people use are Muslin blankets.

There are many different brands but Aden+Anais are my favorite because of the variety of color and prints. However, this is my last baby and I can't justify spending $50 on a pack of 3 blankets! So, I did what I'm best at: being a copy cat!

Here is what you'll need:

*1 yard of fabric per blanket (I found mine for $5.99/yard at my local fabric store, and used a 50% off coupon)

*Matching Thread

*Scissors

*Your favorite fabric paint and something to apply it with (Here I used the sponges off my daughter's sponge hair rollers!)

*Sewing Machine

Step #1- Lay out your fabric and paint on your pattern/design. Allow to dry according to package directions.

Step #2- Wash and Dry

Step #3- Finish the edges. I simply roll the sides over twice and sew in a straight line. That way the edge is minimal.

Done!

It's as easy as waiting for paint to dry and you have fantastic baby swaddling blankets for a fraction of the cost of name brand blankets! (Other than the fabric, I had all the supplies already...So this cost $2.50 per blanket!)

When we find out what we're having I'm going to let the kids paint blankets for the new baby. I think it'll be a great way to get them involved with planning for baby!

I'm sorry I've been MIA...Between the holidays and the sickly first trimester of my pregnancy I haven't had much energy to do anything. Now I'm feeling better, and back by popular demand are zebra bows!

Specialized Bracelets!

I remembered seeing the idea of beading in Morse Code and have had fun this week figuring it out! There is so much you can do with it, and it makes nice accessories even more fun!

My mother-in-law commissioned this one for my niece for her baptism. I added the CTR in Morse Code which stand for Choose the Right--A reminder to her of the baptismal covenants she'll be making. I wish the camera could better capture how sparkly the swarovski crystals are!

My son helped me with this one for his friend's birthday.

Recovering

Our brave pretty princess!


As most of you know our little angel had surgery to remove a brain tumor last week. (For more details click HERE) The surgery was a success, she is recovering well, and we are counting our blessings as well as saying many prayers of thanks that she is home now. Unfortunately, the reality of all the zero's that are coming in those hospital bills is starting to hit us. Now that we are home and doing better, I am back to making bows and accessories! I have always loved making bows and accessories so in order to help our financial situation, while being at home and taking care of our sweet girl, I've raised bow prices a bit. My hope is that they are still cheaper than a boutique so it will benefit you, as well as us!
